Knizhka World (knizhka.world) is run by Mobibean LLC, a North Carolina company, 1633 New Garden Rd #2117, Greensboro, NC 27410, USA. Email: hello@knizhka.world. Phone: (919) 371-8024.
These terms apply when you buy from knizhka.world. Our Shipping, Return Policy and Privacy Policy pages are part of them.
Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it when payment goes through and we send the confirmation email.
We buy most books from publishers and stores in Russia after you order. If a book turns out to be unavailable, we tell you by email and refund that book. If the order weight drops into a cheaper shipping tier, we refund the difference too. The rest of the order ships as normal.
US orders are charged in US dollars, Canadian orders in Canadian dollars. Book prices in Canadian dollars are converted from our US dollar prices at the current exchange rate. The book prices, shipping and any tax we collect are shown before you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number.
If a price on the site is wrong because of an error, we contact you before shipping. You can accept the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We never charge more than you agreed to without asking you.
We describe each book (title, author, publisher, year, ISBN, format) as accurately as we can, using publisher data. A cover can differ from the photo when the publisher reprints a book. If you receive a different edition or the wrong book, we fix it under section 7 at our cost.
Delivery times on the Shipping page are estimates based on our recent orders. Every order gets a tracking number. If tracking shows no movement for 30 days, we treat the order as lost and refund the full purchase price.
US orders are delivered by USPS. Canadian orders ship from our US warehouse by courier. We cannot deliver to PO Boxes: Canadian orders need a street address.
Canadian orders are shipped Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). The price you pay us does not include Canadian import duties, GST/HST or provincial sales tax on imports, or the customs brokerage fee. The carrier collects these from you before or at delivery. The amount depends on the order value, your province and the origin of the goods.
Charges you pay to the carrier or to the Canada Border Services Agency are not paid to us, so we cannot refund them. CBSA refunds duties and taxes on goods you send back in some cases; brokerage fees are not refundable.
If you refuse the parcel, do not pay the import charges, or do not collect it, the carrier returns it to us. Once it arrives, we refund the books minus the original shipping charge and the return and clearance charges the carrier bills us. We do not deduct the same charge twice. This does not apply if we sent the wrong or damaged books, or if the law gives you the right to cancel.
You can return books within 60 days of delivery, as described in our Return Policy. Contact us first; we send instructions. We refund the books within 10 business days of receiving them, minus the original shipping. Outside the US you send the books to our US address at your own cost.
Damaged, defective or wrong books: write to us within 7 days of delivery with a photo. We send a replacement or a full refund including shipping, and pay the return postage.
You may browse and buy for personal use. Do not copy the catalog, scrape the site in bulk, or use it for anything illegal. Book descriptions and covers belong to their publishers and authors.
We are responsible for getting you the books you paid for, in the condition described. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs, carriers or events outside our control, beyond the refunds described above. Our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law where you live that cannot be waived by contract.
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA. If you live in Quebec, Quebec law and Canadian federal law apply instead. Wherever you live, you keep the mandatory consumer protections and the right to go to court that your local law gives you. Please write to us first; most problems get solved by email.
We may update these terms. The version in force when you placed your order applies to that order. The effective date at the top shows the current version.
If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest still applies.
